Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown is an expert in environmental engineering, microbiology, biotechnology and genomics.
Her research focuses on the use of microbial systems for bioenergy production with an emphasis on environmental applications of molecular microbial ecology. Krajmalnik-Brown applies her expertise within human intestinal microbial ecology and its relationship to obesity and autism.
She is a professor in civil and environmental engineering in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment and is a member of the Biodesign Center for Environmental Biotechnology.
In 2011, she was awarded a National Science Foundation career award and she has published more than 85 peer reviewed articles in various STEM focused academic publications.
